How to Apply Racing Colors?
Points to consider before applying. Surfaces must be clean, dry and oil-free. Puttying and sanding processes must be done before the application. Surfaces that will not be painted should be covered with adhesive tape and paper. The ideal application temperature should be between 20°C – 25°C. In order for the color pigments in the paint to mix evenly, the spray paint can should be shaken for at least 2 minutes. Otherwise, the desired color cannot be achieved.
The spray can should always be kept upright during spray painting. Before painting, spraying should be done for trial purposes and the color tone should be checked. The correct spray distance is 25 cm. Always start spray painting from the outside of the object. A few thin layers are sprayed diagonally, first vertically and then horizontally. Wait 2-3 minutes between coats. Adequate air intake should be provided to the application area to prevent paint mist.
